Engine Update URL

I wanted to make the game update automatically, so I don't have to keep sending out new files to people, but I didn't know how to.

I know it has something to do with putting in a website URL for the Json text but how do you do that. I already have a website set up but do I just need to make a page with the Json file?

You need just upload on an folder your games files generated by editor + json file  or all games files and php script in this folder and set update url to :

Case 1 :
http://mywebsite.com/update/version.json

Case 2 : Php file (rename this to index.php)
http://mywebsite.com/update/

In theory, but it might be frowned upon by Github.

I want to say no (not quite sure tbh) because GH is not meant to work as a file hosting service for porpoises like this one specifically. And even if it did worked, you would probably be violating some ToS clause that you already agreed with when you signed up for an account there.

Not recommanded to use Github for this. CGU violation and more limitation.
