Extin
       Hey guys! So I haven't gotten in to the whole game making scene in a couple years now. But I've had a project from back when XtremeWorlds was still popular, this one is actually at least 7 years old now, and I wanted to share that. How it was back that attracted a lot of people to it on XtremeWorlds. Though that community had many more fan games than this one does, so I wasn't quite sure how you all would receive it. I decided to share it in the end anyway. Kanto Online was a sort of remake of Pokemon Red, except you played as the Pokemon. It had a well balanced combat system, though the player growth system could've used some work. A few of the tiles also felt out of place. You were able to start as all 4 starters you could get in the game, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Pikachu. I had a fully working evolving system as well as a "move learning" system. When I had the server active on that game during the day I had around 6-8 people playing it. That was only a couple of weeks in to development, too! I also had XtremeWorld's creators bless the game with his presence. Anyways, enough talk about it, here's some screenshots of what it turned out to be:  Here's Pallet Town: Route 1: Viridian City (most of it, at least): Aaaaand, a Pokemon Center.         Just a few nights ago, I had and idea. To remake this game, but use a way more feature-filled engine. This idea was very intriguing to me, so I played around with porting tilesets and sprites over. That didn't work out exactly had I imagined, considering XW uses sprites and tiles in separate images, all of them 32x32 instead of sheets. So I ended up finding some new ones I had to only put little work in to getting them to mostly work with Intersect's engine. It ended up taking me a couple of nights for some tiles and sprites, but they ended up coming out alright. Then my next aim was to get some music and know-how on intersect's engine, considering I was used to coding in small things, as well as I started out with scripting on XtremeWorlds. After a little while I had some maps created and ended up getting an evolution and move learning system working (The evolution one won't be necessary for a little while but hey, just to get the hang of events). Here are some screenshots of what I've got of the game so far.  My World Map so far:  Pallet Town:  Route 1:   And Viridian City:  So that's that. Please let me know what you guys think of this, I'm look forward to any and all replies! Thanks, Extin  Giligis and Refur
Giligis
Its certainly a cool project. I used to make games around the engines limitations too, a Pokemon fan-game where you play as the Pokemon instead of trainer, seems like a way around engine limitations. I'm not bashing it! Its certainly an awesome idea, especially executed well, and a lil different from mystery dungeon (or a lot of different hehe) so that's also interesting. Good luck dude, been a Pokemon fan for a long long time now, interested to see what happens.  INB4 Copyright, I think everyone who makes a fan-made Pokemon game gets it so lets not fill this thread with that, I see it every Fan-made thread lol.
Beefy Kasplant
It's nice that Intersect has the level up move learn built in! Would like to see some attacks/moves and hear how you will go about that. Â Not a big fan of these graphics tbh, your maps are too empty and big and your sprites too small. Good luck! Kibbelz
Definitely huge progress from your extreme worlds game. Good luck!
Khaikaa
I'm also working on a pokemon game where you play as the pokemon. How do you manage the types?(I mean, water hitting stronger to fire than grass... etc)

This has a long way to go so we'll have to see what kind of things I can manage to do with this. As for engine limitations, I had a way around that. Just code it yourself. haha I had one game back in highschool where you just roamed the Zelda 1 map as Samus on the Android. Didn't have any enemies but still cool.  15 hours ago, K  said: It's nice that Intersect has the level up move learn built in! Yeah their entire event system just works amazing. Thought I'm sure myself much like many other people, can't wait until it's open source. As for the moves, I've played around with them for a bit and had Ember, Water Gun, and Vine Whip shooting off each of their respected elements off in three directions in front of the player, as well as had them just shoot a straight projectile. Still trying to figure the move system out, but I wanted to see if this would grab any attention before I put more than a couple nights worth of work in to it. These graphics ended up coming from Heart Gold and Soul Silver, I most certainly will be improving them. I'll try to keep it with HG/SS tiles, but I'm gonna try to get the Kanto side of the tileset. Mostly what I got was off Johto tiles so I just made that work. I honestly should've just gone with Fire Red and Leaf Green tiles. I'll consider changing the size of my sprites, but looking at the photos, I'm kind of convinced that that's how big those Pokemon would actually be compared to the surrounding lol 11 hours ago, Kibbelz said: Definitely huge progress from your extreme worlds game. Good luck! Thanks, I agree that it's a big improvement! I went back and looked at my maps on the XtremeWorlds project and saw how little attention I paid to detail after I made the ones on Intersect and got so disappointed lol it was many years ago but still. I also had one other mapper working for me who kind of did things the lazy way and squeezed so much on one map. 8 hours ago, Khaikaa said: I'm also working on a pokemon game where you play as the pokemon. Honestly, with my knowledge (so far) of the Intersect engine, I'm kind of stumped on that one! We'll have to see
