UPDATE!: So the game is up and working however I cant connect with my own IP I have to use localhost, and this causes some problems because all the game files are stored on DropBox and all my friends that are developing right now need the config file set to my IP in order to connect.

As @antarcticPuppy said, its working and everyone else can connect but I cannot.

No, I am not going to switch to Github because it would just cause more confusion to all my fellow developers than its worth, plus Github changes nothing about my IP situation.

Yes, the IP is static.

Well, I am NOT a specialist @Mapyo, but at least here in poland (at least few years back) there were 2 types of IP static and dynamic. And if you had dynamic IP it was IMPOSSIBLE for someone to connect to your network from outside (either it was blocked or something no idea) but there was a special 'premium' feature to lock it into static IP which then was detectable from other networks (That's why Hamachi became so popular on some servers and game networks Ugh awful stuff). So yes, if you're having your client to connect to it, you'd need to give a client which has your IP set in, and give it someone. Do you have discord? We could test now if your network is capable of outside connections or not. Also tip, if you restart router and IP changes then you have dynamic one and it may be problematic :)

If you have discord add me up on antarcticPuppy#4403 if you do not have, then feel free to add me on steam http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197979953258/

Editeroni:Tested and working! :) ProTIP for anyone searching this thread: If you have working IP and you put it in client you'll most likely not be able to connect to it, however other's will. So don't be suprised if you cannot connect, let someone try! :)

We tested it, works perfectly fine!

Not sure about it but I think you could use a dynamic ip for your server but your server ip will need to be change everytime you lost your internet connection or electricity. And your player would have to change the ip on their config.xml so pretty much pain in the ass to your players and you.

Well be sure to put a static ip adress for your server

Umm...well Youd need to have forwarded ports, also you'd need to share client if its not completly vanilla, and umm ye you insert your Ip however some Ip's are public and some are not. Sometimes even if you have ports forwarded your provider may not have this avaible for you.

Because youre not using dedicated server are you?

@antarcticPuppy I have the client and its not vanilla, uploaded on Mega. And you say some are public IP's and some are not. How do you tell? My ports are also forwarded and open, and canyouseeme.org says they can see me :P

You can host if you have a dynamic IP I have before you just need to go install No-IP. This way people dont have to get hamachi. I hate when people say just use Hamachi, I will never install that terrible software on any of my computers ever again.

and here you go link to no ip just install that and get an account what it does is takes your dynmaic IP and gives it to the site which then changes it to a static ip such as play.game.minecraft or something to that effect. So players will only need the IP given from No-IP in the games client. https://www.noip.com/

@Draken I'm not using hamachi, and everything is working properly, people can connect and play and the ports are forwarded. I just cant connect unless its set to local host.

I have no use for No-IP plus installing it makes Avast go crazy.

If you need to be on local host just make a copy of your client's folder and use that one with the right config file.

Haha, we know, we came to that conclusion long time ago! :D But thanks for spreading information about no-ip, haven't seen that in years, good that it still exists I guess :)
