So lets start with the basics shall we? There are like 10 parts to this equation, but only 2-3 that we have control of. Let's eliminate your friend, and all the network hops between your place and his first. Go to http://ipchicken.com, what is your public ip address? Post it here please. Secondly, what is your server port? If your server is running, and you enter your IP and Port on this site, does it say online or offline? http://www.canyouseeme.org/ We can proceed based on your answer to all of that P.S.
